October 1: A short post today. It was a longer than usual walk today, 25 km but my body did fairly well. My tendinitis was definitely better but still acted up for the last few km. I think there is progress. My feet were well behaved as was the rest of my body.
We met Julie, a Canadian who has been living in Thailand (Phuket) for the last 30 years. We had lots of laughs together on the trail and even more after arriving at this very nice hostel run by albergue nazis. It’s immaculate but the rules are something else. I guess they’re determined to keep it immaculate by making sure no human activity disturbs it.
Tomorrow is a shorter walk than today and I think my ankle will like that. The landscape on the meseta continues to be beautiful to my eye. Maybe because I was born and raised on the prairie.
Too much laughter for deep insights today.
